The Golf Master Tool is Outplayed's dedicated golf value betting software. It analyses each-way golf markets before tournaments begin, estimates each golfer's true probability of winning or placing, and highlights bets that may offer positive expected value (+EV).

The Golf Master is Outplayed’s newest Value Betting tool, which takes the Value Betting principles of the Extra Place Master and applies them to golf. By highlighting each way golf bets with positive expected value from the place part of your bet, the Golf Master gives you all the information you need to make consistent profits, week after week.

The Golf Master works very similarly to the No Lay mode of the Extra Place Master. It calculates the true likelihood of every golfer to win (or place in) a particular competition and highlights any bets that offer positive EV through an each way bet.

What Is The Golf Master Tool?

In essence, the Golf Master is a version of our Extra Place Master tool, but built for golf rather than horse racing. Our proprietary algorithm assesses all the players in a golf tournament and compares their real chances of winning or placing to the odds on offer at the bookies.

The tool has the benefit of being incredibly simple to get to grips with, and the bets it recommends are exceptionally quick and easy to place. All you have to do is follow the integrated links in the tool to navigate to the bookie and place your each way bet - meaning it takes just seconds to take huge amounts of expected value.

When it comes to Value Betting, this is about as straightforward as it gets! Of course, the fact that your bet holds positive expected value doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed to win. Value Betting is a numbers game, and that means you’ll need to place bets in high volume to see profits.

However, in the long run, using the Golf Master is highly likely to result in a profit overall - and the more bets you place, the closer your results will be to the EV you’ve taken in total.

📊 What the Data Says

"The latest official Gambling Survey for Great Britain found that 47% of adults had participated in some form of gambling in the previous four weeks, demonstrating the size of the audience using betting markets where data-driven value betting tools can be applied."

How To Use The Golf Master Tool

golf master calculator example

It’s easy to learn how to use the Golf Master tool, but you should make sure to time your betting right. It’s designed to be used before a tournament begins, typically between Monday and Thursday morning (depending on when the tournament in question starts).

This is the time when the markets begin to form, and you may well find that extra paid places are added, further adding to the value up for grabs.

Bear in mind that it isn’t possible to use the tool once a tournament has begun, as the tool doesn’t support in-play betting, so make sure to get your bets placed in advance of the tournament.

When it comes to actually using the tool, simply follow the instructions below:

  • Choose your filters

There are a range of filters available to narrow down the results you see. You may choose to limit the bookies to those you’re keen to bet with, set maximum or minimum odds and EV%, or restrict your results to a particular tournament that’s about to begin.

  • Choose a bet

The tool will display results in order of EV% (highest to lowest). Anything with an EV% over 100% is theoretically profitable, and anything below 100% holds negative expected value.

In general, betting at high EV% is the best option, though you should be wary of bets with a Win EV% of over 100%, indicating that the fair odds are lower than those available with the bookie.

Placing bets of this nature will increase your chances of being gubbed, so we recommend steering clear of them and choosing bets whose value is to be found in the place part of the bet.

  • Open the calculator

Clicking on the little calculator button to the left of a golfer’s name will open up the calculator and allow you to review the details of your bet before you place it.

The calculator will display your possible results depending on the outcome of the bet and your stake. By default, your each way stake will be set to £5 (making a £10 total bet), but you can adjust this depending on your bankroll and preferred degree of risk. You can also use the settings section to add your bankroll and preferred default stake, to personalise the calculator further.

  • Place your bet

If you’re happy with the details of your bet, go ahead and click the bookie logo to go to the bookie’s website. Locate the bet in question, double check the terms to make sure the number of places matches up with what’s shown on the tool, and place your bet (don’t forget to click the each way button!).

Having done so, use the ‘store and remove’ button on the calculator to save your bet to the profit tracker and keep track of your progress.

Why Use The Golf Master Tools?

The Golf Master gives you the opportunity to unlock thousands of pounds of value that wouldn’t otherwise be available to you - if you’re a keen value bettor, you’d be mad to pass it up!

📊 What the Data Says

"The R&A reports that Great Britain & Ireland now has more than 6.1 million adult golfers, highlighting the scale of competitive golf and the large number of tournaments that create potential each-way value betting opportunities throughout the season."

- The R&A

One of the chief challenges of Value Betting is the time it takes to track down bets with positive EV - but the genius of the Golf Master is that it takes care of all this for you. All you have to do is load up the tool and place your bets - then simply wait for your profits to start mounting up.

💬 Expert Insight

"Many bettors judge a value betting strategy by its results after a handful of tournaments, but that's rarely enough to measure whether an edge exists. Tracking hundreds of bets and reviewing your expected value against actual returns gives a far more reliable picture than focusing on short-term wins or losses."

- Andy Cooper, Outplayed value betting expert

Frequently Asked Questions About Horse Racing Value Betting

What is the Golf Master Tool?

The Golf Master is Outplayed's golf-specific Value Betting tool that identifies each-way golf bets with positive expected value (+EV). It analyses tournament fields, calculates true probabilities, and highlights opportunities where the bookmaker's place odds appear to be mispriced.

How does the Golf Master find value bets?

The Golf Master uses proprietary algorithms to estimate each golfer's true probability of winning or placing, then compares those probabilities with bookmaker odds. When the place portion of an each-way bet offers positive expected value, the opportunity is displayed within the tool.

When should I use the Golf Master?

The Golf Master should be used before a tournament begins, typically between Monday and Thursday morning. This allows you to take advantage of opening prices and extra-place promotions before markets change.

Does the Golf Master guarantee profit?

No. Like all Value Betting strategies, the Golf Master identifies bets with positive expected value rather than guaranteed winners. Individual bets can lose, but consistently placing +EV bets aims to generate profit over the long term.

Is the Golf Master suitable for beginners?

The tool is easy to use, but Value Betting involves variance and requires disciplined bankroll management. It's generally better suited to experienced matched bettors or sports bettors who understand expected value and are comfortable with short-term losing streaks.

What types of golf bets does the Golf Master recommend?

The Golf Master focuses primarily on each-way golf bets where the place element offers positive expected value. This approach can help reduce account scrutiny compared with consistently taking obvious win-price value.

Do I need to calculate expected value myself?

No. The Golf Master performs the calculations for you, showing the expected value of qualifying bets alongside supporting information. This removes the need to manually estimate probabilities or compare bookmaker prices.

Can I use the Golf Master during a golf tournament?

No. The Golf Master is designed for pre-tournament betting only and does not support in-play or live betting markets.

Who can access the Golf Master?

The Golf Master is available exclusively to Outplayed Pro Plus members. It forms part of the wider suite of Value Betting tools included within the Pro Plus membership.

What bankroll should I have before using the Golf Master?

Because Value Betting involves natural variance, many experienced bettors recommend starting with a dedicated bankroll of around £1,000 or more. A larger bankroll makes it easier to follow a consistent staking plan during inevitable losing runs.
