Livescore Bet’s Background
Although Livescore itself has over a quarter of a century of history in the UK, Livescore Bet is much newer to the scene, having launched in 2020. The site mirrors Virgin Bet, the third brand within the Livescore group.
In light of how comparatively new Livescore Bet is to the sports betting world, it’s done well to make its mark in the industry. In the 2023-24 financial year the Livescore Group reported a total revenue of almost £180 million, the bulk of which came from its gambling arm (although this does admittedly include Virgin Bet as well as Livescore Bet).
Having grown rapidly in the UK, Livescore is starting to expand into other territories. Unlike many of their rivals, they have been cautious about their international operation, deciding against expanding into the USA.
Currently, they operate in the UK, Ireland, Bulgaria and Nigeria, having withdrawn from the Netherlands, but they’ve made clear that they have further expansion in their sights.
They’ve been the proud recipient of several awards, including Best Mobile Product for their app in 2023 and the SPC ‘Rising Star’ in 2022, which goes to show they’re doing something right. It’ll be interesting to see the direction the sportsbook takes in the years to come.
Livescore Bet Welcome Offers
Unusually, Livescore only has one welcome offer available. Fortunately, it is a reasonably generous one, offering up a total of £30 in free bets when you place a £10 qualifying bet. Matched bettors will be able to make a good amount of profit, and should be fairly satisfied with the promotion.
On the other hand, customers who prefer casino aren’t catered for at all, and anyone who likes online bingo or poker is definitely in the wrong place.

One thing Livescore does well is regular sports promotions. Especially at the weekend, you’re sure to find multiple sports offers, with a particular focus on football and horse racing.
Livescore promises a money back offer on a particular match every weekend during the football season, with a free bet of between £1 and £20 if your bet loses. The exact amount will vary from customer to customer - which may be frustrating for matched bettors, if they find they’re eligible for only a £1 offer.
Regular horse racing refunds are also available, on particularly generous terms - you receive your money back as a free bet if your horse finishes 2nd, 3rd or 4th, which gives matched bettors excellent scope for profit.
As well as this, you’ll see regular price boosts and extra place offers, plus it’s not uncommon to receive free spins if you bet on a certain match.
All in all, Livescore’s offers are attractive and competitive, and make them well worth signing up for, especially if you’re Matched Betting.
Livescore Bet Casino
Range Of Games
Casino isn’t exactly Livescore Bet’s main focus - it was, after all, set up to complement the Livescore sports media brand - but it still has a decent range of games.
The Big Bass, Eye of Horus and Fishin’ Frenzy series are all represented, and Livescore does have a small range of its own exclusive games to offer as well.
We doubt that many customers will be signing up solely to access the casino (especially without a casino welcome offer), but sports bettors who fancy a change of pace will find plenty enough to keep them entertained.
Regular promotions
As Livescore is much more interested in sports than casino, it’s not a surprise to find that its casino offers are somewhat more limited than its sports offers. Still, it gives customers a daily chance to get 10 free spins when they wager £10 on a particular slot, which casino fans will be pleased to see.
As well as this, customers can play the daily free game ‘Search for the Phoenix’ (also available with Virgin Bet), which gives players the chance to win cash or free spins. It must be said, though, that you could easily end up winning nothing at all each week!
Livescore Bet Usability
Bookmaker websites can vary wildly in how user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing they are. Livescore, we’re pleased to say, is firmly at the higher end of the scale.
Between its dark background and relatively restrained website design, it avoids the garish and cluttered impression many other bookies end up giving, while pops of colour draw the eye effectively without feeling overwhelming.
It follows the usual format for bookie websites on its homepage, with promotions top and centre and featured markets below, with a left-hand sidebar to view the full range of sports and markets, and a betslip on the right hand side.
On a standard desktop screen, the betslip does perhaps take up a little too much space, squashing the sportsbook in the middle, but this doesn’t seriously detract from the experience of navigating the site.
One minor downside is that you can’t access a search tool without navigating to a particular sport - and it seems to be only horse racing and football that allow you to search at all.
When you navigate to an event page, such as the Brentford vs Manchester City football match shown below, you’re greeted with limited performance stats at the top, price boosts below, and further markets below that.
All markets are collapsible, making it very straightforward to track down what you’re looking for.
It’s also worth mentioning that Livescore’s bet builder tool is one of the best we’ve seen, avoiding the unnecessary extra clicks that many other bookies require and making it quick and simple to add your selections to your betslip.
The casino section may not be as extensive as that of some of its competitors, but Livescore has done a fairly good job of making it easily navigable and user-friendly, with a search tool to allow you to track down specific games.
On the other hand, RTP isn’t displayed either before loading a game or from within that game, which is always something of a red flag.
The Help Centre does its job well, with query categories logically laid out and answers easy to locate.
However, it seems that those answers aren’t updated as frequently as they should be. The Help Centre confidently informed us that only card and PayPal were accepted payment methods, yet Trustly is available to use when you click to make a deposit.
It’s not uncommon for Help Centre pages to fall out of date, but even so it’s not much of a recommendation if Livescore’s own website lists inaccurate information.
Livescore Bet Safety And Security
Livescore Bet meets the Gambling Commission’s requirements for ‘medium’ funds protection, which indicates the following:
‘Customer funds are kept in accounts separate from business accounts; and arrangements have been made to ensure assets in the customer accounts are distributed to customers in the event of insolvency.
However, there is no absolute guarantee that funds will be protected in the event of insolvency.’
This means that you should be secure in almost any circumstances - but that Livescore hasn't gone quite so far to protect your funds as some of their competitors who merit the ‘high’ protection rating, which does mean a guarantee of protection in the event of insolvency.
The Safer Gambling section, meanwhile, is somewhat minimalist, and is included in the Help Centre rather than having its own dedicated section. That said, it has all the tools and advice you’d expect to see, and while it doesn’t match some of its competitors’ standards, we’ve certainly seen worse.
Livescore Bet Service And Support
It’s a shame that Livescore Bet doesn’t offer a customer service phone number, but 24/7 live chat does at least mean it’s always possible to get in touch.
Like many companies, Livescore greets its customers with a somewhat obstructionist chat bot, but it is possible to get through to a human agent if the bot can’t resolve your query.
You can also contact them via email if you prefer - it’s worth noting, though, that the website doesn’t confirm how long you can expect to wait for a response.

Livescore Bet App
Livescore Bet’s app is well regarded, and it’s easy to see why. It’s straightforward to navigate, with the homepage mirroring its website and displaying promotions and featured markets prominently.
It’s nice to see a search tool at the top of the page, to speed up the process of tracking down specific markets on a small screen.
We’re a fan of the ‘A-Z Find’ menu, which manages to arrange pretty much everything you might want to find in a logical, easy to navigate manner.
The casino section again mirrors the website, but with a search tool at the top to speed up tracking down specific games.
Unusually, Livescore Bet doesn’t offer a dedicated casino app (which isn’t surprising, when they’re much more focused on their sportsbook), but you’re unlikely to care, as the casino section should meet all your gaming needs.
Summary
Livescore Bet can’t be considered the very best bookie out there, but it’s also a long way from being the worst. Its focus on its sportsbook is reflected in a well designed and user-friendly sports section, and particularly in the appealing promotions, both for new and returning customers.
